Day 1 : Ovens Valley & Bogong High Plains
Your journey starts as your personal guide collects you at your inner Melbourne accommodation and escapes Australia's 2nd largest city. Travelling north and west we'll quickly put much distance between us and the city and begin discovering pretty little towns nestled alongside lovely river systems. Turning off the highway we'll begin meandering around the little communities in the Ovens Valley famous of its wonderful organic and small-production food and wine products. Leaving the Valley behind us we'll then begin climbing up into the Australian Alps and the wonderful mountain scenery of the Bogong High Plains.
Day 2 : Snowy Mountains & Snowy River Wilderness
Leaving early today we'll head deeper into the Man From Snowy River country and the huge Snowy River & Kosciuszko National Parks. You'll discover remote bush huts forgotten over time and the brumby yards for rounding up the wild bush horses on the Gelantipy Plateau. Let alone the absolutely stunning scenery of the Pinch River, Little River and twin Cobberas Mountains. All the time keeping a keen eye out for the native wildlife and birdlife that live in this remote region of Australia. Strip off for a swim in the Snowy River or just listen to the sounds of nature we'll finish the day at a wonderful farmstay and warm hosts adjoining the Tinderry Nature Reserve.
Day 3 : National Capital, Canberra
After a hearty country breakfast and exploration of the farm we'll head down to the Limestone Plains and into Australia's National Capital-Canberra. Here you discover not only Australia's major national monuments and treasures, but also peak inside the factors that influenced the character of this great country. From the heritage of the National Museum and Australian War Memorial to one of the world's most magnificent parliamentary houses. As the day ends we'll make our way back to our comfortable farmstay and wonderful hosts for a bit of outback adventure.
Day 4 : Southern Highlands
Bidding your farmstay hosts farewell on the last day of your Melbourne to Sydney tour we continue north and into the temperate Southern Highlands on the fringes of Sydney. The traditional summer homes for Sydney's elite are set aside wonderful national parks, escarpments and waterfalls. The townships are full of antique shops and local quality produce. The rural communities are more inclined towards horse studs and specialty breeds of sheep & cattle than their flat country cousins further west. Winding down to the coast your guide will drop you directly at your inner Sydney accommodation ready for your next adventure in one the world's most beautiful harbour cities.
